Habitat donation drive starts Saturday

Spring cleaning? As homeowners declutter and spruce up their homes, officials with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga are asking for donations of gently used, unwanted items to the ReStore collection drive.

Household items and building materials may be dropped off for use or resale by Habitat from April 6-27. Items will be accepted Tuesdays through Saturdays at ReStore, 1201 E. Main St. Donations may be dropped off on Saturdays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Lowe's Home Improvement stores in Chattanooga.

Items that will be accepted include furniture, new mattresses, window treatments, low-flow toilets, building materials, working appliances, flooring, new carpet, solid doors, cabinets, paint, wallpaper, lighting, hardware, windows, plumbing supplies, sinks/faucets, tools and outdoor furniture.

All items must be in good, working condition. Items too large or heavy to transport may be picked up at no charge.

The person, contractor or business donating the most materials with the highest monetary value during the drive will win a $500 Lowe's gift card.
