A meet-the-artist reception for Mary Patten Priestley, whose artwork is on view through April at the Artisan Depot Gallery, 201 E. Cumberland St., in Cowan, Tenn., will be held 5-7 p.m. CDT Saturday April 6.

Scheduled to perform is Die Geschwister, a Patten family trio that features Priestley and her brothers Tom Patten and George Patten, from left. Priestley's exhibit, "A Natural Selection: Plants and Animals of the Plateau and Beyond," reflects her work as a botanist, as curator of the Sewanee Herbarium and editor of the Sewanee Plant Press.

Her art mediums include pen-and-ink, colored pencil, watercolor and combinations thereof.
