A Chattanooga police officer is on paid administrative leave after he was arrested over the weekend.

Officer Christian Lorenzen was arrested on charges of DUI, implied consent law, speeding in a work zone, possession of handgun while under the influence, by Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers on Sunday.

Lorenzen, who has been an officer since March 2002, will remain leave until an internal affairs report is completed, said Master Patrol Officer Nathan Hartwig. The incident took place while he was off duty, Hartwig said.

Lorenzen is a patrol officer in the Echo zone.
