22-year-old arrested after man stabbed to death in his pickup truck in Whitfield County

A 22-year-old has been charged with stabbing a Walker County man to death after the man drove to his house early this morning.

Police found Ricky Grice slumped over in the front seat of a Dodge pickup truck and another man, Jonathan Durden, standing in the driveway with blood on his hand and holding a knife, said Sheriff Scott Chitwood in a news release.

Investigators believe Grice had driven to Durden’s house on Quinn Drive early this morning to pick up a woman who had been staying with Durden but wanted to leave, Chitwood said.

When Grice pulled into the driveway, Chitwood said Durden became angry, then walked to the truck and reached in through the open window, stabbing Grice several times.

Durden was arrested and taken to Whitfield County Jail, where he has been charged with murder.
