Mayor Coppinger announced that the W Road is expected to be closed for 10-12 weeks.

The Hamilton County Public Work Department reported it had closely monitored the road, and as recently as last week completed roadway surface crack filling and asphalt overlay repairs in an area of concern. The sudden development of significant roadway cracks after last week's maintenance, possibly due to geological shifts below the roadway, has prompted the County to close the road and initiate emergency repairs.

Hamilton County Public Works Administrator Todd Leamon says this will allow for an expedited process to secure immediate and specialized engineering design, as well as any required repair measures, to stabilize the roadway.
