'Children's Hour' opens at Theatre Centre

A hateful lie told by an angry student at an all-girls boarding school irrevocably tarnishes the reputation of the two women who run it, leading to the destruction of their careers, relationships and lives.

"The Children's Hour," a 1934 play by Lillian Hellman, opens Friday, April 12, at Chattanooga Theatre Centre, 400 River St. A reception at 7 p.m. precedes the curtain at 8 p.m. Performances continue through April 28.

In central roles are Laura Maynard as student Mary Tilford, Kelly Pennell and Ashley McKoy as headmistresses Karen Wright and Martha Dobie. George Quick is directing.

Friday, April 26: 8 p.m. curtain, with complimentary drinks and snacks for Girls Night Out at 7 p.m.

Saturday, April 27: 8 p.m. curtain.
