An elderly couple died in Polk County, Tenn., after a head-on car crash Wednesday morning, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol says the other driver had been drinking.

Driving east on U.S. Highway 64 near mile marker 18, according to a THP report, 21-year-old Warren D. Ingram steered his Nissan Titan across the center line around 6:30 a.m. before crashing into a Chevrolet Silverado. William F. Rogers, 74, of Hiwassee, Ga., and Judith L. Rogers, 73, were pronounced at the scene. They were towing a boat Wednesday morning.

Paramedics drove Ingram, of Cleveland, Tenn., to Skyridge to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. He was not charged with a crime as of Wednesday night, though the investigation is still open.
