Lookouts beat Smokies in road opener

Starting pitcher Zach Lee allowed five hits and one run in seven innings to lead Chattanooga to a 6-2 win over the Tennessee Smokies in its road opener.

Lee tallied seven strikeouts. The Lookouts (2-4) led 2-1 entering the eighth inning, when a Chris Jacobs single to left scored Blake Smith, a J.T. Wise single to center scored Griff Erickson and a Rafael Ynoa infield hit scored Jacobs.

Game two of a five-game series at Tennessee is this morning at 11:30.

Chris Reed (0-1, 9.00) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Alberto Cabrera (1-0, 3.00) scheduled for the Smokies.
