WESTMORELAND, Tenn. - Sumner County authorities say a man ran over his friend with a tractor, killing him, and then fled.

WSMV-TV reported Sumner County deputies charged David Perry with reckless homicide and leaving the scene of a death.

Authorities said the incident occurred late Wednesday afternoon at an intersection north of Westmoreland.

Investigators said Perry told them he panicked because he had been drinking. A witness saw the tractor, which helped deputies locate Perry. The name of the victim wasn't immediately released.
