The Red Bank Dixie Youth Baseball program is holding a 50-year anniversary celebration Saturday at the ballfield complex behind Red Bank High School, beginning at noon. Longtime program leader Skipper Fairbanks said officials have made been trying to contact players and coaches and their families from the 1950s to the present about attending and being recognized, and all Red Bank DYB alumni are specially invited. Scholarships will be awarded to outstanding high school seniors who played in the program, Fairbanks said, and photos, articles and scrapbooks relating to Red Bank DYB will be on display at the Luken Sports Facility at the ballfields. • Cleveland State hosted and defeated the University of the Cumberlands junior varsity 10-4 and 3-1. DeAndre Allen was one of four Cougars to drive in a run in the second inning of the first game. He also singled, stole a base and scored in the fourth before contributing a two-RBI double in a five-run fifth. Ethan Davis was the winning pitcher with the help of three relievers. J.D. Cowart of Cleveland State (24-13) started a two-run rally in the fifth inning of the second game with an infield single and scored the tie-breaking run. Winning pitcher Tyler Kilgore gave up three hits over five innings and Bobby Towne earned the save.

• Freshman pitcher Reid Fults allowed only four hits in 72/3 innings as Chattanooga State won 7-5 in baseball Tuesday at four-year school Hiwassee. Jordan McDonald, Aaron Wright, Read Walden and Luke Shipway each had more than one hit for Chattanooga State (29-9), which moved up three places to 15th in this week's NJCAA Division I poll.

• Allen Thigpen homered and had three RBIs and James Snover hit three doubles as Sewanee knocked off Rust 18-2 in NCAA Division III baseball Wednesday at Sewanee. The Tigers scored four runs in the first inning and piled on nine more in the second in the rout. Michael Walker was 3-for-3 Ben Clune knocked in three runs in the win.

Golf

• University of Tennessee at Chattanooga midyear addition Agathe Sauzon from Valence, France, was chosen the Southern Conference women's golfer of the week for her tie for eighth in the Web.com Intercollegiate at Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. Her 1-over-par 217 for 54 holes was the lowest tournament score for a UTC women's golfer in more than two years. She joined the Mocs in January. They'll play Sunday through Tuesday in the conference tournament at Moss Creek Golf Club at Hilton Head, S.C.

• Leading after Monday's first round, the Lee University men's golf team finished fourth out of 18 teams in the NAIA Classic at the Brickyard Crossing at Indianapolis. The Flames shot a collective 310 Tuesday for a 601 total that was 12 shots behind the winning Our Lady of the Lake team from Texas. Lee's JB Eksteen and Matt Emery made the top 12 individually at 148 and 149, and freshman Forian Loutre wound up at 151 with Hunter Vest at 153 along with Peyton Sliger, who played as an individual. The Flames play this weekend in their final Southern States Athletic Conference tournament.

Fishing

• Dan Clark of Cleveland was the co-angler winner in the Walmart Bass Fishing League Choo Choo Division tournament Saturday on Lake Guntersville with a five-fish limit totaling 25 pounds, 11 ounces. He earned $2,232. Hixson's David Freeman was third with 18-12, and Soddy-Daisy's Cody Frazier, Scottsboro's Trent Wright and Rainsville's Corey Stout were eighth through 10th with 17-2, 16-11 and 15-4. Fort Payne's Brian Horton was fifth among the pros with 24-14, good for $855. Gadsden's Terry Tucker won $4,463 for his first-place 30 pounds. Freddy Palmer of Estill Springs was 13th with 22-5, and Cleveland's Jeff Knight, Flintstone's Brent Barnes and Scottsboro's Benny Medlen were 16th through 18th with 21-12, 21-8 and 20-11.

Softball

• Bryan College lost both games of a doubleheader Tennessee Wesleyan 7-2 and 7-2 in Appalachian Athletic Conference softball games Wednesday in Dayton.

• The Trevecca Nazarene softball team beat Covenant College 15-4 and 8-1 Wednesday on Lookout Mountain. In the first game, Jenni Jobe went 2-for-2 and Chander Shepherd scored twice. In the second game, Shepherd had two hits and scored a run, and designated player Morgan Lane went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
