AUGUSTA, Ga. - The body of a missing 8-year-old child in Richmond County was found in a pool.

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office reports that a dive team found the body of Jon Stevens in a pool at a residence in Hephzibah about 1:30 a.m. Sunday. The Augusta Chronicle reports that his mother contacted authorities about 9:30 p.m. Saturday. She said he had been visiting friends but hadn't been seen for several hours.

Deputies began a search of the area and discovered the body in the pool.
