Lookouts edge Suns behind Lee, 4-3

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Chattanooga Lookouts defeated the Jacksonville Suns 4-3 in Southern League baseball Saturday night.

Chattanooga broke a 2-2 tie in the eighth inning when Joc Pederson tripled to center field and Blake Smith homered to right.

Lookouts starting pitcher Zach Lee struck out six in six innings and allowed just one run.

The Lookouts (7-9), who have won four of their last six games, took a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning on RBI singles by Griff Erickson and Miguel Rojas.

Game two of the five-game series is today at 3:05. Chris Reed (1-1, 4.50 ERA) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Lookouts, with Brian Flynn (1-1, 1.06) scheduled for the Suns.

• Lookouts outfielder Yasiel Puig went on the seven-day disabled list with a sprained thumb, and he was replaced on the Lookouts roster by Brian Cavazos-Galvez.
