A multiple-vehicle accident Wednesday shut down Interstate 24 eastbound near the Rossville Boulevard exit and led to one fatality.
The crash that happened just before 3 p.m. involved a tractor-trailer and shut down all three eastbound lanes, according to Tennessee Department of Transportation spokeswoman Jennifer Flynn.

About 6 p.m., two of the three lanes were reopened.
A release from the Chattanooga Police Department said the investigation is continuing.
