• What: Six women were presented Black Pioneer Women of Excellence awards in recognition of their career achievements and community service during an awards luncheon at Hawkinsville Baptist Church.
• Benefits: Chattanooga chapter of National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc.
• What: BRA-VO!, a fashion show celebrating life after breast cancer, was held at Track 29. Fashions were modeled by 25 area breast cancer survivors.
• Benefits: Breast Cancer Support Services, formerly known as Y-Me. The nonprofit provides financial assistance to low-income patients while they are in active treatment. It also maintains a bra, wig and prosthetic bank and offers educational programs, resource information and support groups.
