Girls Preparatory School Headmaster Randy Tucker will serve as the interim head of school at Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, Tenn., for the 2013-14 school year.

BGA is a K-12 co-ed independent school with an enrollment of more than 800.

Tucker is set to retire from GPS in June after 26 years at the helm.

"I am excited about the challenge," Tucker said in a statement.

"It doesn't hurt that BGA is, like GPS, a wonderful environment with a hardworking faculty attempting to position the schools for the new challenges of the 21st century. I hope I can be helpful if even it is for just a short while."
