A Hamilton County Sheriff's Office deputy has been transferred to the Hamilton County Jail after an internal affairs investigation revealed he provided alcohol to teens - some of whom are part of the sheriff's office Explorer Post, said Janice Atkinson, public information officer in a released statement.

Justin Tabor, who was worked at the sheriff's office since 2009, provided alcohol to one or more teens on more than one occasion.

Alcohol was not provided to the teens at any of the Explorer-sponsored events.

Parents of the youth declined to press charges. The investigation was started after the Hamilton County District Attorney's Office referred the matter to the sheriff's office to handle administratively, Atkinson said.

Aside from the demotion, Tabor has also been suspended without pay for 132 hours and will be placed on probation for one year.
