Four artists offer 'Sense of Place' at River Gallery — Aug. 2-31

"Sense of Place," featuring works inspired by a sense of place, texture and the human experience, is the August exhibit at River Gallery, 400 E. Second St.

Included are paper wall sculptures such as "Wood House One," by Wade Brickhouse (Tennessee), paintings on metal by Brooke Marks-Swanson (Indiana) and textured ceramics by the collaborative team of Holden McCurry and Ed Byers (North Carolina).

An opening reception with the artists is scheduled 6:30-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 1-5 p.m.

Sunday and by appointment.
