Convergys adding 400 jobs in Chattanooga

Convergys Corp. plans to add 400 more jobs to its Chattanooga call center, officials said today.

The company is seeking people to handle inbound and outbound customer service sales calls for an unnamed client in the health care industry, said Convergys spokesman Justin McCahill. The business is seeking both part-time and full-time employees, he said in an email.

Wendy Matchett, site leader for the Convergys contact center in Chattanooga, said that expanding business at the Convergys site is enabling the company to provide a new employment opportunity for area job seekers. She said that potential employees must have exemplary customer service skills, computer literacy, and some sales experience.

Plans are to bring on the new workers between September and next June, according to Convergys.

Earlier this year, Convergys announced it was adding nearly 500 customer service workers in part to handle growth from a satellite TV client.
