Chattanooga closing some streets today, this weekend

The Chattanooga Transportation Department has reported streets that will be closed over the next couple of days for special events.

It said M.L. King Boulevard between Broad Street and Georgia Avenue and Market Street between East Eighth Street and East Tenth street will be closed today from 5:30 p.m. to midnight for the Nightfall Concert Series. Additionally the 800 block of Cherry Street will be closed at King Boulevard and will only be accessible from East Eighth Street.

A news release said South Crest Road from South Seminole Drive and the I-24 overpass to Waheela Drive will be closed Saturday from 6 to 10:30 a.m. for the Missionary Ridge Road Race.

Duncan Avenue, between Beech and Willow streets will be closed from 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday for a Back to School and Birthday Block Party.

Reggie White Boulevard, between West 19th Street and the entrance to the Skate Park will be closed Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the Chattanooga Market.
