TULSA, Okla. - An Arkansas man has been arrested for assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly hurt two Tulsa bar patrons when trying to hit them with a car.

Police say 37-year-old Timothy Tyron Beal of Augusta, Ark., got into a dispute at the Town Pump Bar early Sunday and was asked to leave the establishment.

Two people who were in front of the bar told police that Beal drove straight at them. Witnesses say Beal didn't try to stop or avoid hitting the two men. Tulsa television station KJRH reports both men were treated at a hospital. Their condition wasn't available Sunday afternoon.

Tulsa Jail online records show Beal remained in custody Sunday and was held on $50,000 bail.

He has an Aug. 19 court date.
