Man dead
A woman in Cleveland, Tenn., allegedly shot her boyfriend to death Sunday night and then texted several people about it, local police said in a news release.
One of the people police say 43-year-old Alina Sherlin texted called 911.
When police arrived at Sherlin's house at 1908 Greenwood Avenue, she refused to allow officers in her residence, according to the release.
So the officers looked through the windows and saw 45-year-old Robert D. Julian on the floor of the living room next to a rifle.
When the officers made entry, they discovered Julian dead of an apparent gunshot wound to the chest, according to the release. Sherlin was placed in custody and charged with first degree murder.
The address police gave for the shooting appears to be one block from where a Lee University student was found dead in his car last week, and is just three blocks from Mayfield Elementary School.
