Annie Sellick, compared to "Janis Joplin doing jazz" by the Los Angeles Times, will perform Friday, Aug. 16, at Barking Legs Theater, 1307 Dodds Ave.
Considered one of Nashville's finest vocalists, Sellick was voted Best Jazz Artist by readers of the Nashville Scene five years in a row and has performed and recorded with the likes of Jeff Hamilton, Joey De Francesco, Gerald Clayton, Mark O'Connor and Eddie Higgins.
She will be accompanied in Chattanooga by the Uptown Big Band, directed by Dan Dorrill.
