After 13 years in business, Out of the Blue Cafe and Kites will close this week. Owner Peggy Roselle plans to retire and shut down the city's only kite shop at 3230 Brainerd Road. The shop's last day will be Friday.
"It's been tough since the financial downturn, and we've been eeking along," she said. "So we just decided it was time, although we have a loyal core who are very sad to see us go."
Tupelo Honey opens Sept. 16
Tupelo Honey Cafe will open in Chattanooga on Sept. 16. Workers are painting and putting the finishing touches on the 5,500-square-foot restaurant in Warehouse Row, which will include seating for 150 patrons.
The Asheville, N.C.,-based restaurant chain plans to hire 120 full- and part-time workers for its new location in downtown Chattanooga and will interview candidates today through Monday at the La Quinta Inn, 100 W. 21st St. in Chattanooga.

Cisco profits up in quarter
Cisco's earnings and revenue grew in the latest quarter as demand for its computer networking equipment increased.
Cisco Systems Inc. earned $2.23 billion, or 42 cents per share, in the three months that ended on July 27. That's up from $1.92 billion, or 36 cents per share, a year earlier.
