OKLAHOMA CITY — Officers responding to a call from a quiet, well-kept neighborhood in southeast Oklahoma City discovered a brutal scene: the slain bodies of four people, including an infant.
A 40-year-old man who lived at the home, Daniel Green, was arrested a short time later on four counts of first-degree murder and booked into the Oklahoma County jail on Thursday without bond, said Oklahoma City Police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow.
Police identified the victims as 57-year-old Sallie Green, 34-year-old Rebecca Cizek, 16-year-old Katherine Cizek, and 6-month-old Amario Dominguez III. Wardlow said Sallie Green was Daniel Green's mother, and friends and neighbors identified Rebecca Cizek as his sister, and Katherine and Amario as her two children. All of the victims lived at the house with Daniel Green, Wardlow said.
Police received a call around 11 p.m. Wednesday about a possible dead body at a residence, Wardlow said.
"When we got there, we found those four victims inside," Wardlow said. "We aren't releasing the cause of death ... but they did have trauma on their bodies consistent with homicide."
The one-story brick house where the victims lived has a two-car garage and a well-manicured lawn with landscaping lights. A garden hose was coiled up in the front yard, and a satellite dish was affixed to the side of the house. The quiet neighborhood near the working class suburb of Del City has new, tidy brick homes and sidewalks.
"It's a family neighborhood," said Rhiannon Baker, who lives directly across the street. "Things like this don't happen in this neighborhood."
Green was not at the home when officers arrived, and a vehicle was missing from the residence, Wardlow said. After releasing his description to area convenience store clerks, Wardlow said a clerk called police, who arrested Green without incident.
He was interviewed by police and then jailed on four counts of first-degree murder, Wardlow said.
It wasn't immediately clear if Green has an attorney.
She did not discuss any evidence police may have recovered or a possible motive for the killings. Police finished processing the scene and are not searching for any other suspects, she said.
"For the most part, I think it's probably an open-and-shut case. They think this is the guy that did it. They have him in custody," Wardlow said. "Obviously it's still an active investigation."
Neighbors said Daniel Green was known as "Danny" and spent a lot of time outside, but mostly kept to himself.
"He was weird, just a little odd fellow, but I would never think he was capable of doing something like that," Baker said.
Another neighbor, Titus Story, said Green talked incessantly about pop star Selena Gomez. A Facebook page with Green's photograph and links to two of the victims featured numerous photographs of the 21-year-old Gomez and links to dozens of Selena Gomez tribute pages. A longtime family friend, Sherry Warjonen, confirmed the Facebook page belonged to Green.
Warjonen declined to talk about Green, but said she was close friends with Rebecca Cizek and her daughter, Katherine.
"She (Katherine) had a little white ferret she called 'Kitty,'" Warjonen said. "She always had it everywhere with her."
She said Katherine was an outgoing, funny teenager who last year auditioned for a spot on the television program, "American Idol."
Rebecca Cizek worked as a manager at a local fast food restaurant to support her three children, including 6-month-old Amario.
"She was a very hard worker. She was like the rock," Warjonen said. "She was always there when you needed somebody to talk to."
