Teen arrested after bombs found on Alabama beach

GULF SHORES, Ala. — Authorities say a teenager is in custody after lifeguards found two homemade bombs on the beach at Gulf Shores.

WKRG-TV reports that lifeguards found a pair of plastic bottles containing an explosive mixture at a beach access point Monday afternoon.

A bomb technician from the Mobile Police Department was called to remove the devices.

One of the bombs exploded, but no one was hurt. People on the beach say the blast sounded like a gunshot.

Police say two teens were involved, and one is in custody.
