KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - A Knox County jury has convicted a man in the fatal shooting of a former Knoxville police officer and attorney.

WATE-TV reported the verdict today in the first-degree murder case against 41-year-old Douglas England. He faces a possible life prison term when he is sentenced on Oct. 3.

England was convicted in the killing of Mike Parker, who left the city police department to practice law. Parker was arrested in 1992 and charged with helping another person rob a Pizza Hut and served time in prison.

Parker was shot in the head at his home in February 2011 and died a few days later.
