Lee Antonio Clements Jr. was arrested Thursday in the March killing of Eric Fluellen, Chattanooga police said.
Fluellen died on March 19 after suffering two gunshots to the head at the 3200 block of 13th Ave. in Chattanooga, according to Hamilton County court records. Police believe it may be because he came into a large amount of money after a robbery.
He was found by Chattanooga police at about 3 a.m. lying in the northbound side of the street, with “noticeable wounds” to the head. He was declared dead when medical crews arrived.
Police report that throughout the last five months of investigation, the name Lee Antonio Clements Jr., or “Tone Tone,” had come up repeatedly. In Facebook posts the day of Fluellen’s slaying, he and Clements are photographed with guns tucked into their pants.
The 9 mm gun in Clements’ pocket reportedly matches the caliber of shell casings found near Fluellen’s head in March. Fluellen’s clothes in the photo also matched the clothes on him when he died, records say.
Police report an unnamed witness overheard Clements threatening to kill a woman and her family if she reported him to police for killing Fluellen over money.
Police acted on the lead and arrested Clements on Thursday. He and Fluellen are confirmed members of the Gangster Disciple street gang, police say.
Clements is being held at Hamilton County jail on criminal homicide, aggravated assault and unlawful possession charges. His bond is set at $900,000.
