Chattanooga police arrest woman arrest in arson case

Chattanooga police arrested Melissa Tricelle Trimble, 36, Thursday, accusing her of starting a fire in a house.

When police arrived at the house on Wisdom Street, part of the house was in flames.

Police found pots of grease on the stove, with two envelopes stuck under a lit burner. A witness told police Trimble, who gave police the name Melissa Freeman, left the house earlier and no one else had entered. A dog was left outside the house in a fence.

Trimble was arrested and charged with arson. Her bail is set at $10,000. She will appear on Sept. 10 before Hamilton County Sessions Criminal Court Judge Christie Sells.
