2013 College Blitz - UGA clashing colors

August 31 vs. Clemson

Memorial Stadium, Clemson, S.C.

• TV/Radio: ABC/107.9 FM

• History: Georgia leads the series 41-17-2, with the Bulldogs rolling to a 30-0 win in Clemson during their last meeting in 2003.

• Preseason questions: The Tigers earned a preseason No. 8 ranking based on their 11-2 record last year, which included a 25-24 win over LSU in the Chick-fil-A Bowl, a game Clemson dominated statistically. Tajh Boyd threw for 3,896 yards a year ago and Sammy Watkins had 57 catches for 708 yards despite missing four games, but can Clemson's six returning defensive starters make this an elite program?

September 7 vs. South Carolina

Sanford Stadium, Athens, Ga.

• TV/Radio: ESPN/107.9 FM

• History: Georgia leads 46-16-2, but the Gamecocks have won three straight for the first time in the rivalry.

• Preseason questions: South Carolina has won 11 games in back-to-back seasons and returns college football's top talent - junior defensive end Jadeveon Clowney. The Gamecocks are set at quarterback with the level-headed Connor Shaw, but will tailback Mike Davis be a capable replacement for Marcus Lattimore and can the losses of the top four linebackers from a year ago be absorbed?

September 21 vs. North Texas

Sanford Stadium, Athens, Ga.

• TV/Radio: TBA/107.9 FM

• History: This is the first meeting between the two schools.

• Preseason questions: Coach Dan McCarney and the Mean Green moved from the Sun Belt Conference into Conference USA on July 1. North Texas did not have a player named to C-USA's preseason team, and the Mean Green were picked fifth in the seven-team West behind Tulsa, Rice, Louisiana Tech and UTEP. Can a team picked ahead of just Tulane and Texas-San Antonio compete in Athens?

September 28 vs. LSU

Sanford Stadium, Athens, Ga.

• TV/Radio: TBA/107.9 FM

• History: LSU leads 16-12-1, which includes the Tigers' 42-10 thumping in the 2011 SEC championship game.

• Preseason questions: The Tigers were ravaged by early departures to the NFL, but a No. 13 preseason ranking reflects a program still viewed on solid footing under Les Miles. Defensive tackle Anthony Johnson, linebacker Lamin Barrow and safety Craig Loston give the Tigers talent at each level offensively, but can Zach Mettenberger lead at quarterback, especially in his return to Georgia?

October 5 vs. Tennessee

Neyland Stadium, Knoxville

• TV/Radio: TBA/107.9 FM

• History: Tennessee leads 21-19-2, but the Bulldogs are 8-4 against the Volunteers under coach Mark Richt.

• Preseason questions: The Volunteers and new coach Butch Jones are not lacking for questions, beginning with the passing-game pieces from last year that need to be replaced. There was also a 3-4 defense that set records for futility last season but is now a 4-3 under the guidance of coordinator John Jancek and secondary coach Willie Martinez, two former Bulldogs assistants.

October 12 vs. Missouri

Sanford Stadium, Athens, Ga.

• TV/Radio: TBA/107.9 FM

• History: Georgia leads 2-0, which includes a 14-0 win in the Orange Bowl after the 1959 season and a 41-20 win last year.

• Preseason questions: Injuries to the offense prevented Missouri from making a mark in its SEC debut, as the Tigers went just 2-6 in league play and 5-7 overall. Quarterback James Franklin is hoping for a healthier year, but can tailback Henry Josey be effective after missing last season rehabbing torn knee ligaments? And who can replace Sheldon Richardson in the defensive interior?

October 19 vs. Vanderbilt

Vanderbilt Stadium, Nashville

• TV/Radio: TBA/107.9 FM

• History: Georgia leads 53-18-2, with the Bulldogs cruising to a 48-3 romp last year for their sixth straight series triumph.

• Preseason questions: The Commodores racked up their highest win total since 1915 last season by going 9-4 and closing the year with seven consecutive victories. In their effort to repeat, can Austyn Carta-Samuels be a worthy successor to Jordan Rodgers at quarterback, and can Brian Kimbrow or Wesley Tate fill in for tailback Zac Stacy? The days of Vanderbilt sneaking up are over.

November 2 vs. Florida

EverBank Field, Jacksonville, Fla.

• TV/Radio: CBS/107.9 FM

• History: Georgia leads 48-40-2, capturing the past two meetings after the Gators reeled off 18 wins in the previous 21 matchups.

• Preseason questions: The Gators posted an 11-1 regular season despite an offense featuring one consistent feature - tailback Mike Gillislee, who was a senior. Quarterback Jeff Driskel is back and Matt Jones is a capable replacement for Gillislee, but can each player hit the season running after missing a good chunk of camp? The defense has just three starters back but should be stout again.

November 9 vs. Appalachian St.

Sanford Stadium, Athens, Ga.

• TV/Radio: TBA/107.9 FM

• History: This is the first meeting between the schools.

• Preseason questions: The Mountaineers are jumping to the Bowl Subdivision, where they will compete in 2014. This is their last year in the FCS, and they are ineligible for the playoffs, so can these guys stay motivated when there is no conference title or postseason at stake? App State has a stellar group of receivers according to coach Scott Satterfield, but tailback Stevie Miller must be replaced.

November 16 vs. Auburn

Jordan-Hare Stadium, Auburn, Ala.

• TV/Radio: TBA/107.9 FM

• History: The Deep South's oldest rivalry is tied 54-54-8, with the Bulldogs having won six of the last seven meetings.

• Preseason questions: After bottoming out at 3-9 last season, the worst record for the Tigers in 60 years, can this program make a turnaround and make it quick? Coach Gus Malzahn will rely on newcomers Jeremy Johnson and Nick Marshall at quarterback, so a running game headed by Tre Mason and junior college transfer Cameron Artis-Payne may have to set the early tone.

November 23 vs. Kentucky

Sanford Stadium, Athens, Ga.

• TV/Radio: TBA/107.9 FM

• History: The Bulldogs lead 52-12-2, with the 40-game bulge being Georgia's largest over any foe.

• Preseason questions: The Wildcats entered camp with an unsettled situation at quarterback. Tailback Raymond Sanders will be the primary option early on for a new up-tempo attack in Lexington, but he could need help in a hurry. Kentucky has a tricky opener with Western Kentucky, and can they avoid getting decimated in a four-game stretch of Louisville, Florida, South Carolina and Alabama?

November 30 vs. Georgia Tech

Bobby Dodd Stadium, Atlanta

• TV/Radio: TBA/107.9 FM

• History: Georgia leads 63-37-5 and is 11-1 in the series under Richt, winning last year's game 42-10.

• Preseason questions: The Yellow Jackets seem to have slowly backtracked the past couple of seasons under Paul Johnson but may have attained a needed spark with their two-touchdown whipping of Southern Cal in last year's Sun Bowl. Can Georgia Tech build from that win, and can new defensive coordinator Ted Roof be as successful as he was during his first go-around in Atlanta?
