MONTGOMERY, Ala. - A federal and state investigation into dog fighting and gambling has resulted in the arrest of 10 people from Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Texas.

U.S. Attorney George Beck said today the 10 are charged with conducting an illegal gambling business and multiple dog fighting charges, including promoting dog fights.

Federal and state officers served search warrants Friday in Alabama and Georgia and seized 367 pit bulls. They also seized more than $500,000 in cash.

An FBI spokesman said the Humane Society of the United States and the ASPCA helped law enforcement.
