St. Barnabas Senior Living becomes St. Barnabas Healthcare Center

St. Barnabas Senior Living Services has changed its name to St. Barnabas Healthcare Center, its board announced today.

The name change more clearly reflects the services provided by the 48-year-old organization, Chairman Gaines Campbell said.

"Since the sale of our original campus last year, we no longer offer assisted living and retirement apartments," Campbell said. "This small but significant name change is important to furthering the reach of our brand."

St. Barnabas was established in 1965 to meet the need of quality care for seniors in Chattanooga. It has over the years become a short-term home for many who receive therapy before they return to their homes, a news release said.

Its services now focus on a strong rehab therapy program along with traditional long-term care.
