Jacquese Duckett, 35, has been charged with aggravated arson in connection with a fire at a duplex this morning at 1724-B Wilson St.

The Chattanooga Fire Department said she was taken to the Hamilton County Jail for booking.

Firefighters had been told that a woman had poured gasoline on the porch and side of the duplex and set it on fire before leaving the scene.

A news release said an unidentified person on a bicycle had stopped and put out the fire on the porch while that on the side of the residence apparently went out.

Damage was reported minimal and there were no injuries, the release said.

Capt. Anthony Moore of the fire investigation division determined who the suspect was and asked the Chattanooga Police Department to locate the person.

Duckett was located later and taken to Moore who questioned her. The release said she said she had gotten into an altercation with her boyfriend at the duplex, but denied setting the fire.
