MORROW, Ga. (AP) - Authorities have identified a driver and passenger who were killed when they stopped to change a flat tire along a Georgia freeway as a brother and sister from Texas.

Police say 23-year-old Steven Mack and 30-year-old Savannah Guio Hayter both died after being hit by a car. Police say they had stopped to change the tire in the area between Interstate 75 and an entrance ramp to the freeway in Morrow, just south of Atlanta.

The Austin American-Statesman reports that the siblings were from Pflugerville, Texas. Morrow Police Chief Christopher Leighty said they were planning to relocate to the Atlanta area.

Authorities say the driver, who was entering I-75 at the ramp from Jonesboro Road, is cooperating with police.
