UBS replaces Krystal signs

One of Chattanooga's downtown signature buildings is getting a new name. The Krystal building, the 10-story building erected at M.L. King Boulevard and Broad Street in 1978, will soon feature the UBS logo on two sides. The Krystal name is coming down from the building this weekend, marking the end of Krystal's 81 years being headquartered in Chattanooga. The restaurant chain relocated its corporate office to an Atlanta suburb earlier this year. UBS, the financial investment firm that employs 43 employees in the building, is housed in the first floor of the office building owned by Luken Holdings.

"We are committed to the Chattanooga comunity and consider it a privilige to be entrusted here with over $3 billion in client assets," said Jeff Cronan, local executive director for UBS, which also announced Wednesday it is adding nearly 1,000 jobs in Nashville. (Story on C2).

HATponics top among firms

A Chattanooga startup earned a spot in Tennessee's first statewide business accelerator Tuesday. HATponics, a Rossville company that builds aquaponics farms, competed against 20 other startups for the 10 slots in The Tenn. Winners were selected by a panel of out-of-state judges and will tour the state to meet with key executives and mentors during early September.
