Ider, Ala., will celebrate its agricultural heritage at Ider Mule Day on Monday, Sept. 2.

The annual event opens with a parade of mules and antique cars, beginning at 9:30 a.m. (all times are Central).

A mule pull follows at 10:30 and a draft horse pull at 1 p.m. In between pulling competitions, visitors can take in the mule and draft horse show, which begins at 11 a.m. The Wheels of Time Cruisers Open Car Show is set for 8 a.m. to noon.

The event also offers live bluegrass and gospel music from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., an antique engine and tractor display, antique tractor pull, arts and crafts and children's activities.

Concessions will range from barbecue to homemade ice cream. Activities are held in and around Ider Town Park, 183 Sweet Gum Road off Alabama Highway 75.

Admission is $2 (free for children 5 and younger).
