Gambling raid

Several people are facing gambling charges after East Ridge police raided a secret gambling establishment Wednesday at suite 150 of Ridgewood Village on 5611 Ringgold Road.

A makeshift thrift shop served as a front to cover for gambling activities in the rear, according to a news release from the East Ridge Police Department.

The establishment included eight video gambling machines with touch screens, a homemade computer server hidden in the ceiling and a concealed kill switch designed to shut down the power to the machines in the event of a raid, according to the release.

East Ridge police seized equipment, files and cash, the release stated.
