MOBILE, Ala. - A former Mobile County commissioner who was arrested as part of a police operation aimed at catching predators who go online to meet children has pleaded not guilty.

AL.com reports that Freeman Jockisch today entered not guilty pleas through his attorney to the two charges.

The 69-year-old was arrested on Nov. 26 and charged with traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act and the electronic solicitation of a child.

The charges stemmed from a sting operation by Saraland police.

Jockisch was one of six people arrested in conjunction with a single online advertisement, where a police officer impersonated a 15-year-old girl and arranged a meeting with prospective paramours at an apartment complex. They were each then arrested on arrival, according to investigators.
