While the remains of a man found at Camp Jordan in October have been identified, it remains unclear how he died.

The remains belonging to Ernest Hair were found in an advanced decomposed state and had to be identified at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville's Forensic Anthropology Center, said East Ridge Police Cpl. Robert Wade.

"That's what they know at this point. They don't have a cause of death," he said.

The department did not receive a missing person's report on Hair. When news broke about remains being found at the park, Hair's sister contacted police saying she believed it may be her brother, Wade said.

Recent tests confirmed that.

Hair was homeless and his sister had not seen him for some time, Wade said.
