Manchester, Tenn., doctor shot at lawyers office

Manchester Police Department officials confirmed this afternoon that detectives are investigating a shooting that happened in front of a lawyers office on North Spring Street about 1 p.m. CST today.

According to reports from the Manchester Times newspaper in Coffee County, the victim is a Manchester physician, Dr. Harry Bartee. Brenda Bartee was taken into custody on the scene.

Harry Bartee was shot multiple times with a .40-caliber pistol.

Beford County deputies, who happened to be nearby, took the woman into custody until Manchester authorities arrived to take over the situation, the Manchester newspaper reported.
