"La Camioneta," a film that tracks the journey of a decommissioned American school bus that is being remade into a "camioneta," Guatemala's most common form of public transportation, will be screened today, Dec. 5, at Barking Legs Theater, 1307 Dodds Ave.

"La camioneta" translates to "the truck," and such vehicles have become very dangerous for the drivers, who are often extorted by local gangs and sometimes killed if they refuse. Since 2006, 1,000 drivers and fare collectors have been killed.

The film was produced and directed by Vanderbilt University graduate Mark Kendall.
