Chattanooga street closings for special events announced

The Chattanooga Transportation Department has announced some streets in Chattanooga that will be closed over the next couple of days for special events.

They include:

— Wilhoit Street between Main Street and Rossville Avenue will be closed 10 p.m. on Friday through 8 p.m. Sunday for the the Main X 24 Glow Party.

— Second and Spring streets in the Bluff View Arts District, and the intersection of Battery Place and Mabel Street will be congested with runners and walkers on Saturday from 6 to 9 a.m. for the First Things First Families On The Run.

— Rossville Avenue, from Adams Street to Jefferson Street, Jefferson Street, from Rossville Avenue to Main Street, and Main Street from Jefferson Street to Cowart Street will be closed Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for the Main X 24 Southside Holiday Parade. Main Street will be closed to through traffic at Broad Street and Central Avenue.

— Rossville Avenue, from Read Avenue to Madison Street, the inside lanes of north and southbound 23rd Street Extension from Rossville Avenue to Central Avenue, Madison Street from 17th Street north to Main Street, 18th Street from Madison Street to Jefferson Street, and 17th Street from Adams Street to Jefferson Street will be closed Saturday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. for the Main X 24 Glow Run.
