Fire engulfs bicycle shop in Atlanta's Buckhead area

ATLANTA — Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire that heavily damaged a popular bicycle shop in Atlanta's Buckhead neighborhood.

CBS Atlanta reports that firefighters battled the blaze at Peachtree Bikes on Peachtree Road around 8 p.m. Wednesday. No injuries were reported.

Atlanta Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Richard Heard said firefighters heard some small explosions shortly after arriving at the strip mall. Heard tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that those were likely due to bicycle tires in the shop.

Some other businesses in the strip mall also sustained smoke damage.
