The Lee University soccer teams split Wednesday in their final pool games of the National Christian College Athletic Association Division I national tournaments in Kissimmee, Fla. The Lady Flames followed their 1-1 match against Palm Beach Atlantic on Monday with a 3-0 loss to Dallas Baptist (16-6-1), while the Flames (12-4-6) got a goal from Travis Kiger with 50 seconds to play and tied Fresno Pacific at 2 after their 4-0 win Tuesday over Mid-America Christian. Lee's men win their pool and advance to the semifinal round Friday. Lee's women end their season (14-4-2). After a scoreless first half, the Flames took a lead at the 57:59 mark when Quade Marinell scored off an assist by David Perez. Fresno Pacific (16-4-2) answered with two goals within two minutes of each other a little past the halfway mark of the second half. Garrison Adams assisted Lee's late goal. The Lee volleyball team begins play in its NCCAA tournament in Kissimmee with two matches today.

Basketball

• Bryan College split its Appalachian Athletic Conference basketball doubleheader Wednesday evening at Reinhardt, the women winning 63-51 and the men losing 82-81. Matt Porter made the first of two free throws with one second remaining to win it for Reinhardt's men (6-6, 3-1). Brandon Cole topped Bryan (3-7, 2-2) with 29 points and 11 rebounds. Robert Troino scored 26 off the bench on 10-of-14 shooting with four of the baskets 3-pointers. Jeff Long added 13 points. Taylor Neuharth led Bryan's women (7-3, 4-0) with 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting from behind the arc. Jenna Ray made 8 of 8 free throws on the way to 16 points. Keila Formont had 13 points and 10 assists.

• Tennessee Wesleyan and Union College split in two AAC basketball battles of Bulldogs on Wednesday in Barbourville, Ky. The Wesleyan men lost 78-70 after the TWC women won 58-48 over the No. 21-ranked NAIA team. Armeka Booker totaled 19 points, 18 rebounds and three blocks for TWC's women (6-2, 3-2). Cody Houck made four 3-point shots and scored 14 points. Devante Jenkins paced the TWC men (6-5, 4-1) with 28 points and 12 rebounds. Tyler Burse added 16 points and Andrew Scofield chipped in with 14. Shannon Smith dished 11 assists.

• Sewanee won 54-52 at Maryville in NCAA Division III men's basketball Wednesday night, beating the Scots for the first times since Jan. 18, 2006. Seth Brown's 3-point goal with a little more than a minute to play proved to be the game-winner. Jorden Williams led Sewanee (4-2) with 17 points and Marcellus Cardwell led with 10 rebounds.

• Cleveland State won a junior college basketball doubleheader Tuesday at Snead State, the Lady Cougars rising to 10-1 with a 71-57 victory before the Cougars (7-4) ended a four-game losing streak with a 100-91 overtime win. The men's game featured 27 points on 12-of-16 field-goal shooting by Keevin Tyus and 20 points and eight rebounds by Travis Wildgoose. Stetson Moore hit four 3s in scoring 14 points, and Kendrick Williams had eight assists with 13 points. Snead guard Demarcus Threatt scored 30 points. Jara Gaspar led the Lady Cougars with 17 points. Katrice Harris had 12, Jameha Mosley scored 11 and Nataya Roller contributed 10.
