Reward offered for 27 guns stolen from Georgia shop

CUMMING, Ga. - Federal officials say a $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the suspects who stole 27 guns from a pawn shop in Forsyth County.

Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives spokeswoman Regina Milledge said Wednesday that her agency is offering $5,000 along with $5,000 from the National Shooting Sports Foundation to provide the reward.

The ATF and Cumming police are investigating the theft of 27 guns on Dec. 2 from a pawnshop on Atlanta Road, about 40 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta.

Special Agent in Charge, Christopher Shaefer, says there's a high likelihood that the stolen firearms will be sold or used by criminals in violent crimes.

Tipsters are asked to call the ATF gun hotline at 1-800-ATF-GUNS or the Cumming Police Department at 770-781-2000.
