The barbershop singers of the Choo Choo Chorus and their seasonal cohorts, the Chattanooga Community Christmas Chorus, will present their annual Holiday Benefit Concert on Saturday at Girls Preparatory School.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the nonprofit Walter E. Boehm Birth Defects Center.

According to chorus member Marcellus Scott, total giving to the center to date has exceeded $25,000.

"This is a family-friendly event and one that will definitely get everyone in the holiday spirit, while simultaneously raising money for a great cause," he says.

The Choo Choo Chorus is the performing unit of the Chattanooga chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society.

The Chattanooga Community Christmas Chorus was established as an outreach program to engage men who are not necessarily members of the Choo Choo Chorus but who enjoy raising their voices in song while raising money for charitable organizations.
