Man charged with DUI after allegedly falling asleep inside vehicle at drive-thru

NASHVILLE - Police say a man was so drunk that officers had to use some extreme measures to get his attention.

According to police reports, at man at a Wendy's drive-thru in Nashville was so drunk he could not hear police banging on the driver's side door. Officers ended up shattering the car window in order to wake him.

The driver, Regis Carney, told police he thought there was something wrong with him, so he was taken to the hospital, where officers discovered he did not have a medical problem but was very intoxicated.
