Report: Police investigating shooting at New Jersey mall

SHORT HILLS, N.J. — Police say they are investigating a shooting at the Short Hills mall.

WABC-TV reports that the shooting Sunday night caused authorities to place the mall on a lockdown as a precaution. There is no immediate threat to anyone inside the mall.

The television station says an employee at the California Pizza Kitchen, located inside the mall, said someone was shot in the parking lot.

A spokesman for the Millburn Police Department says the Essex County Prosecutor's Office is expected to become involved in the investigation.

The mall, which features upscale stores, is located about 23 miles west of Manhattan.
