Local R&B recording artist Jimmy Allgood will be the special guest for the Christmas Business Networking Social, scheduled 7-11 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Best Western Plus Arbour Inn & Suites, 6710 Ringgold Road.
Allgood started singing as a child in the choir at Avondale Church of Christ. At age 18, he signed with a local independent label and released “Touch It” in 1993. Its first single, “Special,” did well locally, and the second, “One Eye Watching,” included a video, which aired on BET.
His latest release, “Spend Some Time,” will be released early next year.
Saturday’s event is presented as a combination networking opportunity/toy drive. Those attending are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy for a boy or girl to donate to Toys for Tots.
Tickets are $20, which includes a meal.
Tickets are available at Scenic City Management, 423-316-4708; Social Seven, 901-650-3760; or Golden Touch Salon Detox Spa, 5716 Ringgold Road, Suite 104, 423-648-2366.
