Ohio man leads THP on chase, faces multiple charges now in Tennessee, Georgia and Ohio

A man wanted in Ohio on aggravated arson, arson, grand theft and breaking and entering charges was arrested in Georgia on Friday after he led several agencies on a chase about 2 p.m. down Interstate 75 southbound.

According to a Tennessee Highway Patrol news release, Brian Jones was driving a stolen Chevrolet Impala through Chattanooga on the interstate when a highway patrol officer spotted the vehicle and tried to stop him.

Jones fled, and more THP officers engaged in a pursuit.

Jones crossed state lines into Georgia, where Georgia State Patrol and Whitfield County police also joined in the chase. Jones reportedly crashed the Impala in Whitfield County and was arrested.

He will face evading arrest, feloney reckless endangerment, speeding and other minor charges in Tennessee for evading Tennessee Highway Patrol officers. Whitfield County and Georgia State Patrol may press charges also, all in addition to the charges he already faces in Ohio.

Jones will be extradited back to Ohio, said a Tennessee Highway Patrol spokesman.
