Victim in I-75 crash identified

The driver of a pickup truck who was killed Wednesday afternoon when her vehicle was struck by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 75 near Ooltewah has been identified.

Betty Petty, 71, died when an 18-wheeler headed south on the interstate crossed the median into the northbound lanes and hit her truck, according to the Chattanooga Police Department.

Jesus Medina, 40, was identified by police as the driver of the 18-wheeler.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is assisting in the ongoing investigation, according to a news release.
